By conducting competitive research you’ll not only discover who your top competitors are online, but you’ll also be able to see what types of content are working for them. This will give you the information you need to position your organization for success.

Great content doesn’t just happen by accident. If your existing process for creating a blog post, video, email, or social post is simply to start–you’re missing the most important part of the process! Planning. And after you plan things out in detail, there are tried and true production methods, systems, and processes that dependably result in high quality content and content campaigns. Which of course, I’ll teach you.

Learn How to Publish and Promote your Content for Maximum Reach

The best content in the world is meaningless unless it’s discovered and viewed. I’ll show you how to get your outstanding new content in front of your ideal audience. Whether that’s through social media, organic search, email, or other content channels.

Learn How to Convert Site Visitors into Subscribers and Customers

When visitors land on your website it’s important that you have a plan in place to get them from their point of entry to the page you want them on–such a landing page for your product or service. That page is clearly very important as well. We’ll make sure to optimize it for the highest rate of conversion.

Learn How to Measure and Improve your Content’s Effectiveness

No plan is perfect. But by measuring your website’s performance through analytics we can see how effectively your content is achieving your objectives. Through analysis of this data we can improve your existing content and make changes to your strategy and content production to improve performance moving forward.

My Content Coaching Process

My job as a content coach is to educate, encourage, and guide you (or your team) on your content journey.

1. Discovery

We begin with a free introductory call. If we decide to work together, we’ll move on to a detailed technical SEO audit followed by competitve research.

2. Strategy

In this stage we’ll create a customized strategy based on your specific objectives. This will include identifying key metrics of success and setting up analytics and reporting.

3. Planning

Before jumping into production, we’ll review existing systems and processes together. Then we’ll make a plan for producing, publishing, and promoting the content relevant to our new strategy.

4. Production

Throughout the execution of the content production plan, we’ll stay in touch. I’ll be available to field questions and help address challenges as they arise during our check-ins.

5. Publishing & Promotion

During the publishing and promotion process we’ll conduct regular check-ins. We’ll begin evaluating the analytics in real time and address other issues if they arise.

6. Reporting & Analysis

The final stage of each coaching cycle is a detailed review and final report of our content collaboration based on our agreed upon metrics and the results measured in our analytics.

Content Coaching
Frequently Asked Questions

Why is online content important?

Content is what everyone online is looking for. Answers to their questions, review of products or services they’re interested in, people and communities to connect to, and so much more. By understanding what you’re ideal audience is interested in you’re able to create that content and connect it to your personal, business, or organizational goals.

What will creating my own content accomplish?

No one knows you and your business or organization better than you. By learning to communicate directly with your audience you’ll be able to say to them exactly what you want to. As your audience gets to know you (through your content) you can build meaningful relationships and trust, awareness of you cause or offerings, and of course new clients, customers, or donors.  Plus, in the long run, you’ll save a lot of money on content creation!

How much does online content creation usually cost?

Each type of content usually comes with its own price point.

A blog post, for example, can be a flat rate or per word. In my experience as a writer and content manager, it’s not uncommon for bloggers to charge ~$0.20 to $0.30 per word or a flat rate of between $100 and $300+ per post. The more specialty knowledge required to write the post, the most expensive.

Video is much more expensive. Usually starting around $400-$500 for a simple video and going up to thousands per video depending on the person or people hired, video length, and other production costs.

Social Media posts are typically not done piecemeal. They’re usually created by a social media management person or agency. The monthly cost of this service can be anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars per month depending on the scope of the work.

Let’s say you want one blog post and one video per week as well as social media management services. At the most affordable rates, that’s at least $2,500 per month.

It’s also important to note, that just the cost of content production. It does not include the cost of research, strategy, or reporting and analytics.

How much do your services cost?

That depends on your specific needs. My rate is $75 per hour. During our free introductory call we’ll establish the scope of what you’d like to accomplish. I can then generate an estimated timeline and quote. The discovery, strategy, and planning stages will likely take between 10-20 hours of work. After that, our check-ins will be between 30-60 minutes each. How often we meet will be up to you.

So let’s say that it takes 20 hours of work for discovery, strategy, and planning. Then two 60 minute check-ins per remaining stage (3). That’s 26 hours total or $1,950. Less than a single month of professional content creation!

Obviously this is a rough estimate and the specifics of your project will dictate what we do and how long it takes.
